Timer Market Size in Eastern Europe

In 2022, the East European timer market increased by 5.3% to $X, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Over the period under review, consumption, however, continues to indicate a deep contraction. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, timer exports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, exports posted a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 322% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest timer supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 36% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Czech Republic ($X), with a 6.9% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Poland amounted to +30.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Czech Republic (-13.3% per year) and Lithuania (+27.8% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -19.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 371% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Lithuania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 166%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, timer imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 129%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Poland (X units) and Estonia (X units) were the key importers of timers in 2022, resulting at near 35% and 28% of total imports, respectively. Hungary (X units) took a 15% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Romania (12%) and the Czech Republic (4.7%). The following importers - Russia (X units) and Bulgaria (X units) - together made up 4.3% of total imports.

Estonia, with a CAGR of +45.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, growing by 3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the import price increased by 102% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Hungary ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
