The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, tomato ketchup exports reduced to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 14% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Poland totaled +5.2%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Russia (+6.4% per year) and the Czech Republic (-0.1% per year).

In 2022, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 4.7% against the previous year. In 2022, after six years of growth, there was decline in overseas purchases of tomato ketchup and tomato sauces, when their volume decreased by -2.2% to X tons. Total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +65.9% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 12% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then fell slightly in the following year.
In value terms, tomato ketchup imports expanded slightly to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +85.6% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 20%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

In 2022, the Czech Republic (X tons), Poland (X tons), Russia (X tons), Romania (X tons), Hungary (X tons), Belarus (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons) was the largest importer of tomato ketchup and tomato sauces in Eastern Europe, committing 84% of total import.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +15.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X), Poland ($X) and Russia ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 46% share of total imports.
