Russia (X units) and Poland (X units) were the main exporters of travel sets in 2021, accounting for near 41% and 39% of total exports, respectively. From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Russia (with a CAGR of +46.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the export price increased by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, the amount of travel sets imported in Eastern Europe surged to X units, increasing by 23% compared with the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 31%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Russia was the major importer of travel sets in Eastern Europe, with the volume of imports resulting at X units, which was near 41% of total imports in 2021. Poland (X units) took a 23% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Hungary (8.5%), the Czech Republic (6.5%) and Romania (5.3%). The following importers - Ukraine (X units) and Slovakia (X units) - together made up 7.3% of total imports.

In value terms, the largest travel set importing markets in Eastern Europe were Poland ($X), Russia ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X), together accounting for 69% of total imports. These countries were followed by Hungary, Romania, Ukraine and Slovakia, which together accounted for a further 22%.

Hungary, with a CAGR of +15.3%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, picking up by 7.1% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the import price increased by 10% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
