The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 50%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, unbleached sulphate pulp exports fell sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 94%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted notably in the following year.

The biggest shipments were from Russia (X tons), together recording 98% of total export.
Russia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the unbleached sulphate pulp exports, with a CAGR of +1.3% from 2012 to 2022. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

After five years of growth, overseas purchases of unbleached sulphate pulp decreased by -15.8% to X tons in 2022. Total imports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 16% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2021, and then shrank rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, unbleached sulphate pulp imports dropped to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +16.6% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 46%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then reduced in the following year.

In 2022, the Czech Republic (X tons), Poland (X tons), Estonia (X tons), Ukraine (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Belarus (X tons) represented the key importer of unbleached sulphate pulp in Eastern Europe, achieving 88% of total import. The following importers - Lithuania (X tons) and Romania (X tons) - each finished at an 8.1% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Russia (with a CAGR of +47.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest unbleached sulphate pulp importing markets in Eastern Europe were the Czech Republic ($X), Poland ($X) and Estonia ($X), together accounting for 56% of total imports.
Estonia, with a CAGR of +44.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($X per ton), while Estonia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Estonia (+4.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
