Poland (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons) represented the main exporters of vices and clamps in 2022, reaching near 32% and 27% of total exports, respectively. It was distantly followed by Slovakia (X tons), Belarus (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Romania (X tons), together making up a 34% share of total exports. Hungary (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Slovakia (with a CAGR of +27.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X), Poland ($X) and Slovakia ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together comprising 75% of total exports. Hungary, Russia, Romania and Belarus lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 20%.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Hungary, with a CAGR of +40.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 2.2% against the previous year. Export price indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, vices and clamps export price increased by +48.0% against 2014 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the export price increased by 17%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in Eastern Europe
After six years of growth, overseas purchases of vices and clamps decreased by -7.6% to X tons in 2022. Total imports indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +82.1% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 23% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, vices and clamps imports fell to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 34% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then declined in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Russia (X tons), distantly followed by Poland (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Romania (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) represented the largest importers of vices and clamps, together generating 85% of total imports. The following importers - Belarus (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) - each recorded a 6.6% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Belarus (with a CAGR of +18.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2021, and then dropped slightly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
