Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +46.4% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 21%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.

The Czech Republic (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total imports with an 11% share, followed by Bulgaria (8.6%), Ukraine (6.1%) and Belarus (5.2%). Romania (X tons) held a relatively small share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Bulgaria (with a CAGR of +17.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest enamels and glazes importing markets in Eastern Europe were Poland ($X), Russia ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X), with a combined 74% share of total imports. Bulgaria, Ukraine, Romania and Belarus lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 21%.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+1.3%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
