Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

In value terms, wooden frame exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports showed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 6,587%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Poland dominates exports structure, accounting for X units, which was approx. 71% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Latvia (X units) and Ukraine (X units), together constituting a 14% share of total exports. Estonia (X units), Slovakia (X units), Belarus (X units) and Russia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Poland increased at an average annual rate of +11.6% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Belarus (+43.9%), Latvia (+32.3%), Ukraine (+21.6%), Slovakia (+15.4%), Estonia (+10.7%) and Russia (+1.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +43.9% from 2012-2021. While the share of Poland (+71 p.p.), Latvia (+8.9 p.p.), Estonia (+3.4 p.p.) and Slovakia (+3.2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Ukraine (-17.3 p.p.) and Russia (-36.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest wooden frame supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 70% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Slovakia ($X), with a 7.2% share of total exports. It was followed by Latvia, with a 6.6% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Poland totaled +26.8%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Slovakia (+21.3% per year) and Latvia (+41.6% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, rising by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 762%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per unit), while Ukraine ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Estonia (+41.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Poland ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Russia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 58% of total imports.

The Czech Republic, with a CAGR of +66.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, jumping by 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price enjoyed a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 429%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
