Romania (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with an 18% share, followed by Poland (17%) and Lithuania (6.4%). Russia (X tons), Belarus (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to man-made filament fabric exports from the Czech Republic stood at +27.8%. At the same time, Romania (+31.9%), Poland (+30.2%), Lithuania (+26.7%), Russia (+26.3%), Belarus (+13.2%) and Hungary (+4.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Romania emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +31.9% from 2012-2021. The Czech Republic (+11 p.p.), Romania (+7.7 p.p.) and Poland (+6.3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Belarus and Hungary saw its share reduced by -3.8% and -10.7% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest man-made filament fabric supplying countries in Eastern Europe were the Czech Republic ($X), Poland ($X) and Romania ($X), with a combined 55% share of total exports.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Poland, with a CAGR of +9.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, man-made filament fabric imports totaled $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Poland (X tons) and Russia (X tons) represented the largest importers of woven fabrics of man-made filaments and staple fibers in 2021, recording approx. 33% and 30% of total imports, respectively. Romania (X tons) took a 13% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by the Czech Republic (5.6%) and Slovakia (5%). The following importers - Bulgaria (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) - each amounted to a 5.5% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Slovakia (with a CAGR of +38.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Poland ($X), Romania ($X) and Russia ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 60% share of total imports. Bulgaria, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 19%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Slovakia, with a CAGR of +7.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, falling by -15.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the import price increased by 13%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2021, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Bulgaria ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
