In 2021, the amount of woven pile fabrics and chenille fabrics imported in Eastern Europe skyrocketed to X tons, growing by 18% against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, saw a deep reduction. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Poland (X tons) represented the main importer of woven pile fabrics and chenille fabrics, generating 50% of total imports. Russia (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Lithuania (X tons), Ukraine (X tons) and Romania (X tons). All these countries together took near 38% share of total imports. Belarus (X tons), Bulgaria (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

The second position in the ranking was taken by Lithuania ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Russia, with an 11% share.
