In general, exports saw a mild reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, synthetic yarn exports shrank modestly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a pronounced contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Romania (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons) represented roughly X% of total exports in 2022. Belarus (X tons) took the next position in the ranking, followed by Slovakia (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons). All these countries together took near X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Hungary (X tons) and Poland (X tons) - each accounted for a X% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Bulgaria (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest synthetic yarn supplying countries in Eastern Europe were Romania ($X), Slovakia ($X) and Bulgaria ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports.
Among the main exporting countries, Slovakia, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In 2022, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, almost unchanged from the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per ton), while Hungary ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Eastern Europe
In 2022, supplies from abroad of yarn of synthetic or artificial staple fibers increased by X% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after three years of decline. In general, imports, however, recorded a noticeable slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, synthetic yarn imports reduced to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a mild setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Russia represented the main importing country with an import of around X tons, which resulted at X% of total imports. Poland (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Romania (X tons), Ukraine (X tons), Bulgaria (X tons), Belarus (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons). All these countries together took approx. X% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to synthetic yarn imports into Russia stood at X%. At the same time, Belarus (X%) and Bulgaria (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Ukraine experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Poland (X%), the Czech Republic (X%) and Romania (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
