In value terms, Cote d'Ivoire ($X) also remains the largest baryte supplier in ECOWAS.

In 2021, the export price in ECOWAS amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -58.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 110% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then dropped markedly in the following year.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Cote d'Ivoire.

In 2021, Ghana (X tons) and Cote d'Ivoire (X tons) represented the largest importers of barytes in ECOWAS, together amounting to near 63% of total imports. Senegal (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, distantly followed by Nigeria (X tons) and Togo (X tons). All these countries together held near 33% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Cote d'Ivoire (with a CAGR of +48.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
In value terms, the largest baryte importing markets in ECOWAS were Ghana ($X), Senegal ($X) and Cote d'Ivoire ($X), with a combined 66% share of total imports.
Cote d'Ivoire, with a CAGR of +30.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
