Nigeria (X units) held a 12% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Cote d'Ivoire (10%), Guinea (9.9%), Senegal (8.5%), Sierra Leone (6.6%) and Gambia (5.5%).

By contrast, Nigeria (-1.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Ghana (+6.7 p.p.), Gambia (+4.7 p.p.), Cote d'Ivoire (+3.1 p.p.) and Sierra Leone (+2.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Guinea and Nigeria saw its share reduced by -5.1% and -10.5% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Ghana ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported brooms, brushes, and mops in ECOWAS, comprising 37% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Nigeria ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Senegal, with a 13% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Ghana stood at +7.4%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Nigeria (-0.9% per year) and Senegal (+7.2% per year).
