In value terms, carpet exports declined to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Senegal (X square meters), Burkina Faso (X square meters) and Nigeria (X square meters) represented roughly X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Niger (X square meters), Ghana (X square meters) and Cote d'Ivoire (X square meters), together constituting a X% share of total exports. Gambia (X square meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Niger (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Ghana represented the major importer of carpets and other textile floor coverings in ECOWAS, with the volume of imports reaching X square meters, which was near X% of total imports in 2022. Guinea (X square meters) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Mali (X square meters), Cote d'Ivoire (X square meters), Senegal (X square meters) and Benin (X square meters). All these countries together held near X% share of total imports. Burkina Faso (X square meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.
