Exports of ceramic sinks, baths, water closet pans and similar sanitary fixtures of porcelain or china rose significantly to X units in 2022, growing by 15% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 83% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, exports of ceramic sinks, baths, water closet pans and similar sanitary fixtures of porcelain or china surged to $X in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 90% against the previous year. From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Liberia (with a CAGR of +52.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest ceramic sinks, baths, water closet pans and similar sanitary fixtures of porcelain or china supplying countries in ECOWAS were Guinea-Bissau ($X), Liberia ($X) and Senegal ($X), together comprising 81% of total exports.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Senegal ($X per unit), while Ghana ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Senegal (+2.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of ceramic sinks, baths, water closet pans and similar sanitary fixtures of porcelain or china increased by 55% to X units, rising for the fifth consecutive year after two years of decline. At the same time, Liberia (+13.5%), Ghana (+13.4%), Cote d'Ivoire (+11.2%) and Guinea (+9.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Nigeria (+69 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Liberia, Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire and Guinea saw its share reduced by -5.9%, -7%, -8.6% and -15.4% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, Nigeria ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported ceramic sinks, baths, water closet pans and similar sanitary fixtures of porcelain or china in ECOWAS, comprising 77% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Guinea ($X), with a 4.6% share of total imports. It was followed by Cote d'Ivoire, with a 3.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Nigeria stood at +49.8%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Guinea (+14.6% per year) and Cote d'Ivoire (+13.5% per year).

Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the import price increased by 21%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Cote d'Ivoire ($X per unit), while Ghana ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
