Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, domestic electro-thermic appliances exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by X% against 2020 indices. In 2022, Ghana (X units) represented the largest exporter of domestic electro-thermic appliances, comprising X% of total exports. Sierra Leone (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Nigeria (X%), Senegal (X%), Cote d'Ivoire (X%) and Liberia (X%). Mali (X units) held a relatively small share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to domestic electro-thermic appliances exports from Ghana stood at X%. At the same time, Liberia (X%), Mali (X%) and Cote d'Ivoire (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Imports in ECOWAS

In 2022, purchases abroad of domestic electro-thermic appliances increased by X% to X units, rising for the fifth year in a row after four years of decline. Over the period under review, imports recorded prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, domestic electro-thermic appliances imports shrank modestly to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Ghana (X units) was the main importer of domestic electro-thermic appliances, mixing up X% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Nigeria (X units), Guinea (X units) and Senegal (X units), together creating a X% share of total imports. Cote d'Ivoire (X units), Liberia (X units) and Sierra Leone (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
