The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 411%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

The purchases of the four major importers of extracts and juices of meat, fish, crustaceans and molluscs, namely Togo, Senegal, Ghana and Niger, represented more than two-thirds of total import. It was distantly followed by Nigeria (X tons), making up a 9.7% share of total imports. The following importers - Cote d'Ivoire (X kg) and Cabo Verde (X kg) - together made up 5.2% of total imports.

In value terms, Togo ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported extracts and juices of meat, fish, crustaceans and molluscs in ECOWAS, comprising 62% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Senegal ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Ghana, with a 6.9% share.

In Togo, meat and fish extracts imports expanded at an average annual rate of +105.5% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Senegal (+23.3% per year) and Ghana (+44.4% per year).
