Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, exports of footwear of rubber or plastics, not waterproof, not sports, without a metal toe-cap shrank remarkably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports faced a sharp decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 5.7%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 21% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
