At the same time, Benin (+77.0%), Senegal (+59.2%), Cote d'Ivoire (+58.7%) and Ghana (+36.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Benin emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in ECOWAS, with a CAGR of +77.0% from 2012-2022. Benin (+11 p.p.), Cote d'Ivoire (+4.1 p.p.), Ghana (+2.3 p.p.) and Senegal (+2.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Nigeria saw its share reduced by -16% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, Nigeria ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported glass stoppers, lids and other closures in ECOWAS, comprising 78% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Cote d'Ivoire ($X), with an 8.9% share of total imports. It was followed by Ghana, with a 5.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Nigeria stood at +16.4%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Cote d'Ivoire (+52.2% per year) and Ghana (+22.3% per year).
