In value terms, cyclanic, cyclenic hydrocarbons derivatives exports amounted to $X in 2018. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a precipitous shrinkage. The smallest decline of 99.9% was in 2014. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2018, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2018, the export price in ECOWAS amounted to $X per ton, growing by 425% against the previous year. Overall, the export price posted significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the export price increased by 425%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton; afterwards, it flattened through to 2018.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Nigeria.

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of halogenated derivatives of cyclanic, cyclenic or cycloterpenic hydrocarbons, when their volume increased by 41% to X kg. In general, imports, however, faced a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 4,921%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, cyclanic, cyclenic hydrocarbons derivatives imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a pronounced increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 5,802%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Ghana prevails in imports structure, recording X kg, which was approx. 96% of total imports in 2022. Togo (X kg) held a relatively small share of total imports.

Ghana was also the fastest-growing in terms of the halogenated derivatives of cyclanic, cyclenic or cycloterpenic hydrocarbons imports, with a CAGR of +58.5% from 2012 to 2022. Togo (-35.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
