The shipments of the four major exporters of line telephone sets with cordless handsets, namely Senegal, Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire and Ghana, represented more than two-thirds of total export. It was distantly followed by Cabo Verde (X units), committing a 5.8% share of total imports. Guinea (X units), Cote d'Ivoire (X units) and Niger (X units) held a minor share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Togo (with a CAGR of +37.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Senegal ($X), Togo ($X) and Mali ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together comprising 60% of total imports.
In terms of the main importing countries, Togo, with a CAGR of +41.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in ECOWAS stood at $X per unit in 2022, dropping by -3.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a slight downturn.
