Senegal prevails in exports structure, recording X units, which was approx. 80% of total exports in 2021. Nigeria (X units) held a 10% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Sierra Leone (10%).

In value terms, reticle manufacturing machine imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports showed a significant expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Nigeria represented the largest importing country with an import of around X units, which accounted for 68% of total imports. Ghana (X units) took a 21% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Niger (4.7%). The following importers - Cote d'Ivoire (X units) and Burkina Faso (X units) - each amounted to a 5.8% share of total imports.

Moreover, Niger emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in ECOWAS, with a CAGR of +31.8% from 2012-2021. Ghana experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Nigeria, Niger and Burkina Faso increased by +68, +3.8 and +1.8 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, Nigeria ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported machines for the manufacture of masks and reticles, semiconductor devices or electronic integrated circuits in ECOWAS, comprising 91% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Ghana ($X), with a 3.3% share of total imports. It was followed by Burkina Faso, with a 2.3% share.
