From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, mobile lifting frame exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, saw a significant increase. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

Ghana represented the major exporting country with an export of around X units, which finished at 63% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Togo (X units), creating a 34% share of total exports. Nigeria (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Ghana (with a CAGR of +27.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.

In value terms, Ghana ($X) remains the largest mobile lifting frame supplier in ECOWAS, comprising 1.7% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Togo ($X), with a 0.8% share of total exports.

In Ghana, mobile lifting frame exports increased at an average annual rate of +44.9% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Togo (-29.1% per year) and Nigeria (-34.4% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in ECOWAS stood at $X per unit in 2021, growing by 7,711% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price posted a significant increase. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ghana ($X per unit), while Nigeria ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ghana (+13.5%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2021, purchases abroad of mobile lifting frames on tyres and straddle carriers increased by 85% to X units, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Overall, imports showed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 223% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, mobile lifting frame imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports saw a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 190%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Nigeria dominates imports structure, accounting for X units, which was near 93% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Benin (X units), creating a 4.9% share of total imports.

Imports into Nigeria increased at an average annual rate of +19.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Benin (+49.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Benin emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in ECOWAS, with a CAGR of +49.9% from 2012-2021. While the share of Nigeria (+46 p.p.) and Benin (+4.5 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Nigeria ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported mobile lifting frames on tyres and straddle carriers in ECOWAS, comprising 88% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Benin ($X), with an 11% share of total imports.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in ECOWAS amounted to $X per unit, surging by 19% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 33%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Benin ($X per unit), while Nigeria stood at $X per unit.
