After three years of growth, the ECOWAS mould for mineral materials market decreased by -6% to $X in 2022. Overall, consumption, however, saw a strong expansion. Over the period under review, the market attained the maximum level at $X in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

Production of Moulds For Mineral Materials in ECOWAS

In value terms, mould for mineral materials production amounted to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, showed a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 17%. The level of production peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Mould for mineral materials exports fell significantly to X units in 2022, shrinking by -76.4% against 2021. Over the period under review, exports faced a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 750% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, mould for mineral materials exports reduced rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, exports faced a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 211%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Nigeria represented the largest exporter of moulds for mineral materials in ECOWAS, with the volume of exports amounting to X units, which was near 51% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Ghana (X units), Togo (X units) and Sierra Leone (X units), together mixing up a 46% share of total exports. Cote d'Ivoire (X units) held a little share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to mould for mineral materials exports from Nigeria stood at -15.8%. At the same time, Sierra Leone (+7.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Sierra Leone emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in ECOWAS, with a CAGR of +7.8% from 2012-2022. Togo experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Ghana (-1.2%) and Cote d'Ivoire (-35.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Nigeria ($X) remains the largest mould for mineral materials supplier in ECOWAS, comprising 60% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Ghana ($X), with a 20% share of total exports. It was followed by Sierra Leone, with an 11% share.

In Nigeria, mould for mineral materials exports shrank by an average annual rate of -17.1% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ghana (+5.3% per year) and Sierra Leone (+9.9% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in ECOWAS amounted to $X per unit, jumping by 127% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a mild decrease. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sierra Leone ($X per unit), while Togo ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ghana (+6.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Moulds For Mineral Materials

Imports in ECOWAS

In 2022, overseas purchases of moulds for mineral materials decreased by -14.5% to X units for the first time since 2017, thus ending a four-year rising trend. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 507%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, mould for mineral materials imports stood at $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 116% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Nigeria (X units) was the main importer of moulds for mineral materials, generating 41% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Cote d'Ivoire (X units), Ghana (X units) and Guinea (X units), together creating a 52% share of total imports. Mali (X units) took a minor share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Cote d'Ivoire (with a CAGR of +68.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Nigeria ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported moulds for mineral materials in ECOWAS, comprising 51% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Ghana ($X), with a 22% share of total imports. It was followed by Cote d'Ivoire, with a 19% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Nigeria totaled +4.7%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Ghana (+23.4% per year) and Cote d'Ivoire (+63.4% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in ECOWAS amounted to $X per unit, jumping by 19% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the import price increased by 99.9%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Nigeria ($X per unit), while Guinea ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Nigeria (+1.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
