In value terms, radar apparatus exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 101% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2020; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

Exports by Country

Cote d'Ivoire (X units) and Senegal (X units) represented the major exporters of radar apparatus, radio navigational aid apparatus and radio remote control apparatus in 2022, recording approx. 28% and 19% of total exports, respectively. Niger (X units) took a 12% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Togo (10%), Ghana (8.9%) and Nigeria (8.4%). Mali (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Cote d'Ivoire (with a CAGR of +33.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Nigeria ($X), Niger ($X) and Cote d'Ivoire ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together comprising 60% of total exports.

Cote d'Ivoire, with a CAGR of +42.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in ECOWAS stood at $X per unit in 2022, waning by -5% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the export price increased by 73% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mali ($X per unit), while Senegal ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mali (+24.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in ECOWAS

In 2022, the amount of radar apparatus, radio navigational aid apparatus and radio remote control apparatus imported in ECOWAS surged to X units, growing by 37% compared with the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports showed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 75%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, radar apparatus imports declined to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 155%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

Imports by Country

Senegal represented the main importer of radar apparatus, radio navigational aid apparatus and radio remote control apparatus in ECOWAS, with the volume of imports amounting to X units, which was approx. 52% of total imports in 2022. Ghana (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 26% share, followed by Cote d'Ivoire (6.7%) and Nigeria (5%). Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in ECOWAS amounted to $X per unit, reducing by -36.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 54% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Burkina Faso ($X per unit), while Senegal ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
