Ghana, Guinea, Togo, Cote d'Ivoire and Senegal lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 40%.

Guinea, with a CAGR of +93.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the export price increased by 90%. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Senegal ($X per unit), while Guinea ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Togo (+42.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, overseas purchases of cycles with auxiliary motors and side cars decreased by -3.4% to X units, falling for the third year in a row after three years of growth. In general, imports, however, saw a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 576% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports of failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, Nigeria ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported cycles with auxiliary motors and side cars in ECOWAS, comprising 72% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Senegal ($X), with a 20% share of total imports. It was followed by Ghana, with a 2.2% share.
