By contrast, Senegal (-5.5%) and Cote d'Ivoire (-16.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Nigeria (+45 p.p.), Benin (+3.9 p.p.) and Ghana (+3.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Senegal (-1.8 p.p.) and Cote d'Ivoire (-50.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Ghana ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported soap and organic surface-active products in bars for toilet use in ECOWAS, comprising 40% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Sierra Leone ($X), with a 10% share of total imports. It was followed by Senegal, with a 9.9% share.
