There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mali ($X per ton), while Senegal ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in ECOWAS
In 2021, approx. X tons of transmission apparatus incorporating reception apparatus were imported in ECOWAS; growing by 6.4% against 2020 figures. Over the period under review, imports recorded a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 34%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, transmission apparatus imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports posted a remarkable increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
The purchases of the three major importers of transmission apparatus incorporating reception apparatus, namely Senegal, Ghana and Mali, represented more than two-thirds of total import. Cote d'Ivoire (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total imports with an 11% share, followed by Nigeria (6.5%) and Guinea (5.5%). Burkina Faso (X tons) held a little share of total imports.

In value terms, Mali ($X), Ghana ($X) and Cote d'Ivoire ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 62% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Senegal, Guinea, Nigeria and Burkina Faso, which together accounted for a further 32%.
Guinea, with a CAGR of +34.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in ECOWAS amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 56% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Guinea ($X per ton), while Burkina Faso ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Guinea (+7.8%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
