In Nigeria, vacuum cleaner without motor exports declined by an average annual rate of -4.1% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ghana (+20.2% per year) and Mali (+17.9% per year).

Over the period under review, imports showed a buoyant expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, vacuum cleaner without motor imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 119% against the previous year. At the same time, Ghana (+21.2%), Senegal (+17.0%), Cabo Verde (+11.8%) and Cote d'Ivoire (+8.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Ghana emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in ECOWAS, with a CAGR of +21.2% from 2012-2022. While the share of Ghana (+4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Nigeria (-2.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Nigeria ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported vacuum cleaners without motor in ECOWAS, comprising 69% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Ghana ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Senegal, with a 4.2% share.
