Russia (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main destinations of coffee extract exports from Ecuador, together accounting for 71% of total exports. These countries were followed by Turkey, Colombia, Belgium, Peru, Japan, the Netherlands and the UK, which together accounted for a further 22%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Colombia (with a CAGR of +108.3%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Peru ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+5.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, imports of coffee extracts, essences and concentrates into Ecuador soared to X tons, with an increase of 33% on the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, coffee extract imports expanded sharply to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 40% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Colombia (X tons), Brazil (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main suppliers of coffee extract imports to Ecuador, together accounting for 95% of total imports.
