After six years of growth, purchases abroad of mangoes, mangosteens and guavas decreased by -33.6% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a tangible expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 205% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then reduced markedly in the following year.
In value terms, mango and mangosteen imports dropped sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a mild expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 96% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.

In 2022, the United States (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of mango and mangosteen to Ecuador, with a 70% share of total imports. Moreover, mango and mangosteen imports from the United States exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Peru (X tons), twofold.
