Panama (X tons), Nicaragua (X tons) and Colombia (X tons) were the main destinations of glass fiber exports from Ecuador, with a combined 98% share of total exports.

In 2021, overseas purchases of voiles, webs, mats and other articles of glass fibers were finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, imports, however, showed a perceptible slump. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

China (X tons), Mexico (X tons) and Colombia (X tons) were the main suppliers of glass fiber imports to Ecuador, with a combined 90% share of total imports. These countries were followed by the United States, Chile, El Salvador, India and Hong Kong SAR, which together accounted for a further 7.9%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Chile (with a CAGR of +17.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest glass fiber suppliers to Ecuador were China ($X), Mexico ($X) and Colombia ($X), together comprising 79% of total imports. These countries were followed by the United States, El Salvador, India, Chile and Hong Kong SAR, which together accounted for a further 15%.
