In general, export price indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. In 2022, imports of anise, badian, fennel and coriander into Egypt reduced remarkably to X tons, which is down by -56.2% on the year before. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 695% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, anise, badian, fennel and coriander imports declined dramatically to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a deep reduction. From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of +37.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
