Sudan (X tons) was the main destination for table-tennis equipment exports from Egypt, with a 76% share of total exports. Moreover, table-tennis equipment exports to Sudan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United Arab Emirates (X kg), fourfold.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) remains the key foreign market for articles and equipment for table-tennis exports from Egypt, comprising 86% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Sudan ($X), with a 10% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to the United Arab Emirates amounted to +40.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Sudan (+3.9% per year) and Kuwait (+26.0% per year).

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, table-tennis equipment imports fell to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 25%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest table-tennis equipment supplier to Egypt, accounting for a 73% share of total imports. Moreover, table-tennis equipment imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), threefold.

Over the period under review, the import price recorded a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 27%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton, and then shrank markedly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
