The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 81%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, black printing ink imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 129% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

China (X tons), Switzerland (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) were the main suppliers of black printing ink imports to Egypt, with a combined 69% share of total imports.
