Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In value terms, calcium carbonate exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, exports saw buoyant growth. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

South Africa (X tons), India (X tons) and Bangladesh (X tons) were the main destinations of calcium carbonate exports from Egypt, with a combined 13% share of total exports. In 2021, the United Arab Emirates (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of calcium carbonate to Egypt, with a 38% share of total imports. Moreover, calcium carbonate imports from the United Arab Emirates exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X tons), twofold. Turkey (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 18% share.
