Oman (X tons), Kuwait (X tons) and Thailand (X tons) were the main destinations of chicken meat exports from Egypt, together comprising 78% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Oman (with a CAGR of +70.9%), while the other leaders experienced a decline.
In value terms, the largest markets for chicken meat exported from Egypt were Oman ($X), Kuwait ($X) and Thailand ($X), with a combined 80% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+24.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Egypt
In 2021, the amount of chicken meat imported into Egypt surged to X tons, growing by 17% against the previous year's figure. In general, imports, however, showed a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 23% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, chicken meat imports contracted to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 61% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Thailand (X tons), Brazil (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) were the main suppliers of chicken meat imports to Egypt, with a combined 99% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Ukraine (with a CAGR of +73.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
