Curtains Market Size in Egypt

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +110.3% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 49%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, curtains exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Germany (X square meters) was the main destination for curtains exports from Egypt, accounting for a 79% share of total exports. Moreover, curtains exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United Arab Emirates (X square meters), tenfold. Italy (X square meters) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 5.3% share.

Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X square meters in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, curtains imports reduced remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a abrupt decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 259%. Imports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, the United Arab Emirates (X square meters) constituted the largest curtains supplier to Egypt, with a 65% share of total imports. Moreover, curtains imports from the United Arab Emirates exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X square meters), fivefold. China (X square meters) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9% share.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constituted the largest supplier of curtains and interior blinds to Egypt, comprising 58% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Turkey ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from the United Arab Emirates stood at +20.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+4.3% per year) and China (-8.0% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average curtains import price stood at $X per square meter in 2022, which is down by -11.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 63% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per square meter in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Turkey ($X per square meter) and China ($X per square meter), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($X per square meter) and Spain ($X per square meter) were amongst the lowest.
