Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a slight slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 39% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

New Zealand (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main suppliers of powdered milk imports to Egypt, with a combined 50% share of total imports. Germany, Canada, the UK, Sweden, the United States and Denmark lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 39%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for the UK (with a CAGR of +53.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
