Nonwoven Fabric Market Size in Egypt

In value terms, nonwoven fabric exports fell sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 1,339% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Algeria (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main destinations of nonwoven fabric exports from Egypt, with a combined 20% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Nigeria, Poland, the United States, the UK, South Africa and Saudi Arabia, which together accounted for a further 16%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +125.3%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the amount of nonwoven fabrics imported into Egypt surged to X tons, rising by 29% against the previous year. Overall, imports showed a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 106%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, nonwoven fabric imports expanded rapidly to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 19%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Turkey (X tons), China (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons) were the main suppliers of nonwoven fabric imports to Egypt, with a combined 50% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Germany, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Spain and Israel, which together accounted for a further 12%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for the United Arab Emirates (with a CAGR of +73.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
