Organo-Inorganic Compounds Market Size in Egypt
The Egyptian organo-inorganic compounds market fell significantly to $X in 2021, waning by -20.6% against the previous year. For the fourth year in a row, Egypt recorded decline in overseas shipments of organo-inorganic compounds (excluding organo-sulphur compounds), which decreased by -80.7% to X tons in 2021. Overall, exports saw a dramatic descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 1,069% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, organo-inorganic compounds exports declined remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, exports showed a sharp decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by 1,240%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Saudi Arabia (X tons) was the main destination for organo-inorganic compounds exports from Egypt, accounting for a 75% share of total exports. Moreover, organo-inorganic compounds exports to Saudi Arabia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Libya (X tons), threefold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Saudi Arabia stood at -8.6%.
In value terms, Saudi Arabia ($X) remains the key foreign market for organo-inorganic compounds (excluding organo-sulphur compounds) exports from Egypt, comprising 77% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Libya ($X), with a 22% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Saudi Arabia amounted to +1.7%.
Export Prices by Country
The average organo-inorganic compounds export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 50% against the previous year. Overall, the export price enjoyed a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 75% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Libya stood at $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Syrian Arab Republic (+17.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Egypt
In 2021, overseas purchases of organo-inorganic compounds (excluding organo-sulphur compounds) decreased by -21.5% to X tons, falling for the third consecutive year after three years of growth. Overall, imports, however, showed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 84% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, organo-inorganic compounds imports contracted to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 58% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
China (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and India (X tons) were the main suppliers of organo-inorganic compounds imports to Egypt, with a combined 70% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Germany, Turkey, Italy, the United States and the UK, which together accounted for a further 28%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the United States (with a CAGR of +42.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest organo-inorganic compounds suppliers to Egypt were China ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and India ($X), together accounting for 60% of total imports. These countries were followed by Germany, Italy, the United States, Turkey and the UK, which together accounted for a further 30%.
The United States, with a CAGR of +27.3%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average organo-inorganic compounds import price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 8.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a abrupt contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 43%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
