The average pacemaker export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, picking up by 38% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, faced a sharp setback. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a abrupt slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 401% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2020, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, pacemaker imports declined rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 443%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2020, and then fell dramatically in the following year.

Germany (X units), Japan (X units) and the United States (X units) were the main suppliers of pacemaker imports to Egypt, together accounting for 56% of total imports. Ireland, Belgium, Mexico, Argentina, the Netherlands and Switzerland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 38%.

In 2021, the average pacemaker import price amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 23% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, pacemaker import price decreased by -42.0% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 57%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2021, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per unit), while the price for Japan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
