In 2021, overseas purchases of pears and quinces increased by 19% to X tons, rising for the fourth consecutive year after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports saw buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 201% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, pears and quinces imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 215% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
