In 2021, purchases abroad of pianos and other keyboard stringed musical instruments was finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2015, thus ending a five-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable curtailment. Imports peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, piano imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded resilient growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
