The second position in the ranking was taken by Saudi Arabia ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Kenya amounted to +47.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Saudi Arabia (+8.1% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+9.9% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average primary cell and battery export price amounted to $X per unit, reducing by -18.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price faced a abrupt descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 28% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of primary cells and batteries, when their volume increased by 613% to X units. Over the period under review, imports posted a resilient expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, primary cell and battery imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports posted a noticeable expansion. Imports peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Singapore (X units), China (X units) and Poland (X units) were the main suppliers of primary cell and battery imports to Egypt, together accounting for 13% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +30.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
