Over the period under review, imports recorded a significant decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 79% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, other chemical products imports shrank sharply to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a sharp curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 16%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The United States (X tons), the UK (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main suppliers of other chemical products imports to Egypt, together comprising 39% of total imports. Germany, Italy, Spain, India, Taiwan (Chinese), the Netherlands, France, Turkey, Israel and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 49%.

Among the main suppliers, Israel, with a CAGR of -26.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline.

The average other chemical products import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, waning by -18.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, posted a measured increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 56% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the price for Israel ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
