In value terms, sorbitol imports dropped markedly to $X in 2021. In general, imports continue to indicate a sharp contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 62% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, India (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of sorbitol to Egypt, accounting for a 25% share of total imports.
