Aircraft Tyre Market Size in Egypt
After two years of growth, the Egyptian aircraft tyre market decreased by -9.7% to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, consumption, however, showed a moderate expansion. Aircraft tyre consumption peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports from Egypt
In 2021, shipments abroad of tyres for aircraft decreased by -55.6% to X units, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 1,720% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, aircraft tyre exports fell rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed mild growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 4,062%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Saudi Arabia (X units), Kenya (X units) and Nigeria (X units) were the main destinations of aircraft tyre exports from Egypt, with a combined 75% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Kenya (with a CAGR of +10.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, Saudi Arabia ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for tyres for aircraft exports from Egypt, comprising 54% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kenya ($X), with a 22% share of total exports. It was followed by Nigeria, with a 22% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Saudi Arabia totaled +16.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kenya (-8.8% per year) and Nigeria (-24.2% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average aircraft tyre export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, waning by -8.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, posted a mild expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 130%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Sudan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+30.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Egypt
In 2021, supplies from abroad of tyres for aircraft decreased by -17.4% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports showed a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 126% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, aircraft tyre imports declined to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 190%. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, France (X units) constituted the largest supplier of aircraft tyre to Egypt, with a 21% share of total imports. Moreover, aircraft tyre imports from France exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Japan (X units), with a 6.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from France totaled -16.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (-1.6% per year) and Japan (+46.2% per year).
In value terms, France ($X) constituted the largest supplier of tyres for aircraft to Egypt, comprising 17% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Spain ($X), with a 7.8% share of total imports. It was followed by Belgium, with a 7.8% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from France amounted to +13.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Spain (+62.7% per year) and Belgium (-8.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average aircraft tyre import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, increasing by 11% against the previous year. Overall, the import price posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 73%. The import price peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per unit), while the price for Thailand ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+44.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
