The exports peaked at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, passenger car tyre exports fell significantly to $X in 2021. In general, exports faced a sharp reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 6,764%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

The Netherlands (X units), Saudi Arabia (X units) and Guinea (X units) were the main destinations of passenger car tyre exports from Egypt, with a combined 42% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Cote d'Ivoire, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong SAR, Ethiopia, New Caledonia, Germany, Senegal, Eritrea and Kuwait, which together accounted for a further 35%.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 73% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, passenger car tyre imports fell markedly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed a abrupt shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 25% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Turkey (X units), Poland (X units) and Indonesia (X units) were the main suppliers of passenger car tyre imports to Egypt, with a combined 18% share of total imports.
