The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 553% against the previous year. Turkey (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main destinations of glass fiber exports from Egypt, together comprising 22% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of +443.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest glass fiber supplier to Egypt, with a 48% share of total imports. Moreover, glass fiber imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Kuwait (X tons), with a 13% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China totaled +7.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (-11.9% per year) and Kuwait (-4.3% per year).

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China totaled +9.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (-7.9% per year) and Saudi Arabia (+19.7% per year).

The average glass fiber import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, dropping by -10.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 121%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton, and then contracted in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($X per ton), while the price for Sweden ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
