The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 35%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Lithuania (X units), Latvia (X units) and Belgium (X units) were the main destinations of non-electric chainsaw exports from Estonia, together accounting for 91% of total exports.

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of chainsaws with a self-contained non-electric motor, when their volume decreased by -22.6% to X units. In general, imports recorded a mild curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 22%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2021, and then fell dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, non-electric chainsaw imports fell to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a perceptible setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of non-electric chainsaw to Estonia, with a 59% share of total imports. Moreover, non-electric chainsaw imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Japan (X units), threefold. Sweden (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 12% share.
